DRGW - end of track

Its just a small item but it can change the scene completely.

What did the ‘Grande’ use as end of track rolling stock stops?

The era I am interseted in is between the early 50’s to mid 70’s.

Thanks Rob

Standard Gauge or Narrow Gauge?

On the narrow gauge a stack of ties (or single tie) or dirt seemed to be the norm.

I think most railroads used “whatever” on lightly used and rural sidiings. In a yard you might find consistancy, thought if sidings were added later, they could vary from the originals.

Have fun,

Richard

One constant was that it was usually easier to rerail them from the dirt pile. Despite everyone’s seemingly best efforts, cars seem be able to find their way beyond the end of track.

Olderail

Thank you to those who replied.

Sorry I should have in hind-sight added Standard Guage in city limits (like Florence, Canon City) and at Malta and Tennessee Pass.
