I just bought a new athearn genesis loco. since it’s snowing out here it is very slippery. just today i was driving back from the LHS and swerved and guess what happened my loco which thankfully was still in the box was tossed about in my car. I hope it isn’t damaged.
It can’t be any worse than what UPS does to them. Athearn Genesis products are usually well packed with foam and a thick box. If there is any damage, it shouldn’t be too hard to repair.
When I first encountered the title to this post the first thing that came to my mind was: try a #2 or #3 wood; of course I hope that you’re not trying to do any driving in this weather! Putting either!
I was hoping for a discussion on street-running myself.
That said, the first reply is mostly right, and having dropped a boxed loco, the swearing i worse than the damage. The only reason it would be more damaged, if at all, than from a plane ride, is the box with 4o other ateharns has more strength, but it should be fine
