Congratulations, you’ve just resurrected the “Mil Specs Last Forever” internet meme!
If Congress has anything to say about it, they’ll be digging up Amtrak in 2213 and saying, “Oh, my goodness! Amtrak used standard gauge!”
And of course, Jeffery Guse’s great, great, great, great grand father would have called it a socialist plot and the republicans would have wanted it broken up! Couldn’t resist.
Do we know who built the wagon way? Was it Irish “Navigators” that built it as they did many/most of the railroads in British isles and then came to America?
