Hi There;
A few weeks ago I asked if anyone had used this stuff. I bought some & today I poured a pond & made a hobo camp. This stuff works very well. I just have to add some weeds & stuff when it cools.
Tom

Is it called easy water? Or is it just easy to use but has a different name?
Darth;
Yes that is the name. It’s made by Woodland Scenics. It’s little pellets that you melt on the stove & pour. No smell.

I experimented with that stuff once on a module - it looks great, but you mustn’t use it on extruded foam [3 guesses as to why…[:D]]
1: it soaks through
2: it destroys it
3: It doesn’t look good
Am I right?
Hi,
I used the plastic pellets from Woodland Scenics on my first layout and was happy with the results until I tried cleaning dust off the surface. It scratches very easily, even with a soft tissue.
The new stuff Woodland Scenics has come out with…“Realistic Water” pours out of a bottle, dries much harder and doesn’t scratch when cleaned. It doesn’t smell bad either and I think the results are much better.
Hope this helps.

You can probably pour something ‘else’ right over that product if you ever have to. I had not heard of the scratching bit, but I had heard of crazing, fogging, and other horror stories. I’m glad your experience was a good one.
It melts the foam - #3 is a result of #2.

That’s true - but someone posted a few weeks ago about how the WS Realistic Water gradually shrinks over time. Maybe a thin layer can be applied as a protective coat over the ‘pellet’ water…?
I never used the pellets but I used the Woodland Scenics product that is already mixed and have been very pleased with the results. All you need to do is open the bottle and pour. Here’s how my stream turned out.
