Bama! Your post is blank, but it’s good to know that you’re still around!
I don’t know where my passport is at the moment, but if I have to sneak back across the border, I’ll catch a ride on the Patrick Swayze Express, (from Trailer Park Boys).[swg]
Burried Yeti today, one of our last Great Pyrenees dogs. She worked the night shift with Unaka (our remaining big male G.P.) right up to the end. She did a great job and will be missed. RIP, old girl.
A chamomile tea, please.

Good Morning
Well, now that I got rubber soled shoes on I be not slipping arooooouuuuuunnnddd!! BANG!!! CRUNCH!! Clunk…tinkle tinkle…OK…who left the skateboard where it can cause one to slip and almost lose their balance???
hhhmmmmpph…now that I got THAT put someplace where it will not be causing physical mayhem unto others we will continue here…
It is going to be partly sunny today with a 40% chance of showers and/or those t’underin’boomers this morning and afternoon…clearing later on in the day…high expected at 89F…heat index of 103F…
Seeing as how we are having an official/unofficial holiday today we are going to have a neighbourhood BBQ later on this afternoon…held at the park down the road from us…hopefully without rain be falling on our’n heads here…[:^)]
Flo, I’ll have a coffee and a breakfast bagel please…I’ll be at the RC for bit…
[xx(]Good Morning everyOOOONNNNEEEE!!! THUD !!! CRASH!!! OW!! ok who OW!! OW!! uh a littel help here. Coffee Nadean oh and an ice pack for my caboose. Went to my lhs bought some cheap 40ft box cars and got two painted and one lettered have to wait for some decals from Micro-Scales to do any of the others. Oh man time to get ready for w–k have a good day all…WHOOPPPPPSSS!!! THUD!!
GOOD MORNING!!!
I DON’T understand why everyone is slippping? I am not. Just cuz the diner floor has not had the attention to the floor it needed lately, doesn’t mean everyone has to go {warning} [8]slip sliding away…[8]
ULRICH- I did it before I we went to bed last night. We DO go to bed early here but I thought with the slowdown time in the diner time to move her while the least amount of people are in her. WOuldn’t want anyone to step out and think they were on a 3 day drunk when the landscape is different!!! Sorry {no I’m not}
Good Morning!! I’ll have a mess of those Tom Horton donuts, doughnuts…., however you say it. A variety please. Oh and gimme a cup of their coffee too. I’ll try it. Thanks.
Sunny, with a high near 92. Heat index values as high as 102.
Didn’t get back in the train room last night after all. Sad part is I didn’t fall asleep either.
I see Bama stopped in last night. Didn’t say much though did he. Welp, like JOE said (got it right this time[;)])at least we know he’s still kickin.
Rob- So sorry to hear about Yeti.
Went out to pick Blackberries last evening and to my horror, many were shriveled from the heat. I waited too long. I try and wait longer than many because when they fall off in your hand they are ripe. And when they’re ripe they are just as sweet as can be. Delicious. Veeeery delicate, but best tasting (to me anyway). I could tell yes the birds got a few, but not many. So, I didn’t pick any last night, but today I had better even if they aren’t quite to my preference. A bit tart is better than none at all.
My plans? Well, I guess it’ll start out with doing the weekly deposits and bills for the Church, followed by my daily run out to Mom’s. I need to start w**king on that room and get it spiffed up a bit and get that stupid kitchen out of the basement. (shakes head) Maybe this week it will happen. I hope.
But today…, I reeeally feel like w**king on the layout.[:-^]
Ya’ll have a Great Day!!!
Good Morning All,
Curt, I’m using the Circuitron voltage load detectors. If the dwarfs will be used to determine turnout position you can use the center terminals on the tortuous that normally power route the frog. If you use diodes or want dimmer lights you need to use resistors on the hot leads.
Stan, I bought the T1 and the reviews claimed it would pull 68 cars, so I kept adding cars to it until I ran out of room.
Berry I was thinking “Frostbite Falls, MN” (International Falls). They had a 3 day heat wave that reached all the way to 80F!!
Good Morning All,
Sorry about the loose skateboard - my bad - left it here the other night when I stopped in and it must have been found when G cleaned the floors. I gave up trying to skateboard in the shop because I just can’t get all the little stones swept up from the race tires. They are so sticky when the cars come off the track that they pick up every little stone they pass over. The floor in here on the other hand is virtually spotless.
Blew off w…k yesterday and stayed home to do some chores and the HD list and TA - DA spendsome time on the layout. Usually if I’m lucky I can get an hour in here and there but yesterday I spent a whole 4 hours at the table. Still putting down track bed and assembling turnouts and motors, but a productive day nonetheless.
Love the route to this months’ tie up spot. had my passport at the ready so no worries there. As we go through the Maritimes and hit Montreal, be looking for the big bridge over the river just south of the city. Lots of railroading history here with MLW, Grand Trunk(of course the inspiration for Grand Funk Railroad), CN and more. The track runs more or less parrallel with 301 through this area so look out for the big red GMT Kenworth and gooseneck trailer as we go along.
If possible will we be stopping at Toronto Union Station? The York Hotel across the street from the terminal was synonymous with rail travel back when might be a good spot to “camp out” while the consist is serviced and the crew changed.
Once we get into Ontario, we could stop at former Diner denizen Trolley Robs’ Toronto Radial museum just west of Toronto. If we ask nicely maybe Rob can take us around on one of the restored operating open trolleys. Quite the feature. Personally, I haven’t been west of Sault St Marie so one of you native types will need to pick up the travelog after THAT. Do we get to stop at the THB terminal over by Hamilton? I like viewing the canals and channels a
Hey guys,
let me take my shoes off so I don’t slllliiiiiipppppp…
[xx(]
Sorry I missed most of July. What is going on with all of you?
Train front:
Began ballasting the one side of my layout where the scenery is progressing rather well. I also got an excavator for the slag dump. I also have a sound decoder on order for my new RS2. I am at the beach for the week, so have to wait to pick it up till next tuesday[:'(]. It will be my first sound decoder istal, so wish me luck!

It looks to me that [color=red]Bama[/color] likely upgraded to IE9. I sent him a PM explaining the compatibility issue with it and how to correct it. Nice looking job on the place. I made sure to wear my Silver Series running shoes as they have rubber soles. Rob: sorry to hear about Yeti.
Rob: Sorry to hear about Yeti…[angel]
Good morning. It’s 81° and sunny. The high will be 100° but will feel like 113°. There’s a 40% chance of rain.
More layout work today if I can get the time to do it. So many little things seem to get in the way.
Rob, Sorry to hear about Yeti. It is always painful to lose a friend like that.
I don’t feel so badly about not having so much train time when I hear you retired guys griping about the interuptions you have to deal with.
Hope this week sees those in Sick Bay doing better and no new issues.
G - are you attempting the worlds record for most drawn out root canal - the Erie might have taken less time[:-^] ? Back to the unit room… J.R.
Good Afternoon!
By this time, the floor should not be that slippery anymore - I hope.
Flo, just a coffee, please!
Rob - I am sorry to hear about Yeti. I know how much it hurts to lose a pet, that´s why Petra and I have decided not to have one anymore after we lost Carrot (our beagle girl) 14 years ago,
Ray - nice picture [tup]
Well, I have been experimenting with white glue for the waterfall. Although with some practice I may be able to achieve something looking realistic, I don´t think I will go down that road. The stuff dries rock hard and becomes brittle after a little while, so I need to look into something different. I still have some clear latex caulk somewhere, so I will give this a try. If that also fails, there is still WS Water Effects!
This is what the white glue looks like - it is only loosely placed there!
The bottom part would require some alterations.

Mornin’!
Zoe, I’ll have one of the big, butter rum muffins and a cup of dark roast coffee (just to see if they still make it right up here…).
Ulrich, I think you will do much better using clear caulk or the Water Effects (basically the same thing).
Rob, very sorry to hear about Yeti! Keep you in my prayers… Hard to lose a beloved pet. [sigh]
Mornin’ Bill!
Later!

Morning everyone from SunnyCal. Supposed to be in the mid-90’s today, with thunderstorms over the eastern Sierra from Lake Tahoe south into Mono County. It’s that monsoon time in the Southwest again, and it always sneaks up through Nevada along the eastern front. It’s usually Gully-Washer time, which means flash flooding.
So we’re in Canada, eh? Never been to the eastern part of Canada, though I’ve visited B.C. and Victoria several times. Great country, great scenery and GREAT people!! So I’ll have one of those wonderful Cornish Pasties like they make in Victoria, Flo. The ones with LOTS of meat and potatoes and onions and parsely. And that nice flaky crust… Yummy! [:P]
Well, son and grandson have departed the premises–grandson is flying back to Illinois today. And he’s PROMISED us that he’s going to talk to his mommy about finishing his high school up in Vancouver. I hope she agrees–the high school he’s presently attending has a real dearth of AP courses, and he’s going to need all he can get if he wants to get into a decent college in the future. And Washington state ranks about 11 in high-school systems (where he’s attending ranks about 41). I DEFINITELY wouldn’t have him attend high school here in California (we rank at the very bottom), unless it was a private school, and even with my discount at Jesuit, it would still probably run Christopher about $8000 a year. Worth every penny, of course, Jesuit ranks right up there with the best high schools in the country, but it would be an outlay that neither Tom or myself can really afford right now. We’ll see what happens. Christopher was pretty funny while we were discussing Jesuit. He kept staring at me and saying, “Granpa, do I have to go to Mass every day if I go there? I wasn’t raised Catholic, remember?” “30% of our students are non-Catholic, so don’t worry about it.” “Oh.” "We have sc
Good Morning All…Its sunny and 86 here…I’ll have a RBF please…thank You…I started pulling track on one siding this morning…hope to be able to use all the Kato track again…You all have a good one…Jerry
Rob: I feel your pain. I lost a 17 year old cat last year. Got two playful kittens to fill in a few months ago. They are pretty big now, but not yet big enough to get onto the 40" high trains[:D]!
Latttteeerrrrrr…
I thought someone put that skateboard away!!![:(!]
Almost forgot today is bill paying day. Already paid most of them online but there are a few that must be paid on site with check in hand. Seems no matter where you go there are some places that still operate by prehistoric rules. One of the online bill payments I made was my annual phone bill. A whopping $19.95.That’s for a whole year, not a month!
Good Afternoooooooooo…!!!1 CRASH!!! KKEERRRCLUNK…Ping! pang tinkle tinkle…thud[xx(][B)]
