[#welcome]
[#welcome] AGAIN GUYS!
Pull up a rivet and sit down!
WE are in CANADA…working our way form NOVIA SCOTIA Westwards to the Pacific Ocean. WE will make stops along the way in the cooler airs fo Old Canada.
I spiffed up the RC and shined the outside and put down the stepping block. I put Future floor wax on the floor so it may be slippery! I filled the ice bins and washed all the [B] and [D] and [C].
There will be a [~] later to watch of ye old huff and puff CAnadian National’s steamers!
DOn’t worry, we will have a [~] on CAnadian Pacific later in the month.
As we move along towards the setting sun, we will have feature [~] on subs as we pass by.
[#welcome] to cooler climates!
Whew! that spiffing up was HARD WORk!
Who wants to help clean the booth seats??? we have a good leather cleaner for that!
Sorry Ulrich, I beat you to it just before I go to bed!
See you all in the morning!
{Steps in and slides across the floor and slams into the opposite wall)
OK, who’s the wise guy who waxed the floor?! I’m sure Vinnie will love using him as a bowling ball.
Hey Jeff, how’d you get the red mark on your fa-AAAACE! (slam). Ooof! Never mind I think I know.
Didn’t even get one wire stripped completely before Brenda arrived and I had to start BBQing. No biggy though. Sauted Portabella slices, two Strip steaks (depends on what side of the Big Muddy you live on as to what you call them) fried red potatoes with onions and fresh sweet corn on the cob. (burp) Excuse me.
I just might go do some more train stuff now. If I don’t fall asleep first. [|)]
Hey Jeff, Todd, you guys look like you went through the diner in a mooooove (Crash) I’m OK, don’t think Vinnie will be too thrilled about the window. Hey, is that supposed to be bent like that?.. It’s not.
Just finished working on the layout, put some fields in, a dirt road and some attempts at mud bogs.
I’ll be in the corner booth for a bit, just let me pull myself up.
Evening All,
Am I mistaken or are we taking a rail trip this month across Canada? Count me in. Hopefully it will be cooler than sunny Fl. Well today I went with MOH to the outlet mall and finished off with Wally World. It was a really a fun day for me[:-^]. Tomorrow I will visit the LHS then 2 fabric stores…yeahhhhh. Oh well at least it is alone time with MOH without the daily stresses.
Ulrich- Can you show a closeup of the water feature when you are done?
Jeff- I have been meaning to say how much I like your Southern Box Car. Once I get the signals built and in place I think I am going to give it a try. All I do now is Dull Cote my freight rolling stock.
Hope everyone has a good night.
Evenin’ Folks!
Hey, seem to be “Moving Right Along…” Flo, place looks nice all cleaned up now. It was getting a little worn in the last location at the end. Floors a might bit slippery though. Just a cup of decaf for me at the moment. Had a nice Cornell Recipe Chicken BBQ dinner at my son’s house tonight. Fresh Sweet Corn, Garden Salad, Mixed BBQd Vegetables, Pasta, and many choices of drinks. Dessert was freshly baked cake and ice cream. Can’t wait to see what my sugar is tonight…[:-^]
On the way home passing the FGLK Geneva Yard, there was a 2 loco consist from NS bringing in a string of cars for interchange. Mixed freight with some nicely… ah… Hmmmm… Can’t say THAT word now any more… Ah, you know… ah… Um… How should I say it… Ah, individually painted pictures on them… Yeah, THAT’s it.
Speaking of NS, I took this shot a couple years ago just North of Corning, NY from an overpass…
Have a good night out there!

Oh, Darn! I forgot! All you USA guys will need a passport for Canada now!
Thank goodness the diner is a “international territory of it’s own”…much like the Vatican. {oops…a religious reference…sorry moderators}.
SO, no passport is needed to enter or leave the diner, but if’en ya want to roam around Canada whilst we are here…you will need one!
There is a sleeper car attached this time, where for a nominal fee you can stay overnight if’en ya get to drunk, OR if you want to “sleep on the rails” as the train moves across Canada at night.
Next in a few days we will be moving into Montreal and Quebec…so sharpen up your French, please!
[C] is on me tonight!
There is a nurse on duty too, to patch up any bruises earned here on the shiney floor, or on the bashing going on in the forum. NO, I CANNOT post a pic of her, I don’t want to cause trouble!!!
Good EveeeeeennniiiiiiiiiinnggggCRASH!!! tinkle tinkle…[B)]
ugh…what happened? Where did that Mack truck come from?
…wobbling as he brushes himself off…
It is nice to see that we are in a cooler clime here…do you think that by the time we get somewhere near ON that it might not be so muggy?
Chloe, I’ll have a coffee and a slice of chocolate cream pie please…I’ll be at the RC for a bit…
Never leave home without it.
I was just gonna crash in the diner, no pun intended.
Welcome to Canada, all ye patrons of the Diner! I look forward to your stop in Winnipeg. However, don’t expect cooler weather as you travel west. The Maritime provinces are enjoying cooler weather but from the province of Québec through Ontario, Manitoba and Saskatchewan, we have been experiencing a heat wave since the beginning of July. Not the extreme heat of 100 degrees plus that some of you are enduring, but high 80s to 90 or so. No rain either. Should make some of you feel right at home. I’m sure Ulrich will enjoy the change. Lots of rain in Alberta and much cooler in B.C. Oh, try rubber soled sneakers. I didn’t slip once, but the diner looks nice all cleaned up and polished.
Oh, U.S. citizens don’t need a passport to enter Canada, but will need a U.S. passport to re-enter the U.S. However, without a U.S. passport to allow you to re-enter the U.S., Canadian Border Services will not allow you to enter Canada. So, in a way, you do need a U.S. passport to enter Canada. I guess they don’t want to see you stranded in Canada. Good thing the Diner is an international territory that doesn’t need passports.
Eh?
Can we expect Tim Horton’s coffee and donuts in the morning?
On the layout, I worked only briefly today. (It’s summer!) … I worked on my station platforms for Union Station.
Evening all,
Always wanted to go to Canada! Time to get that passport renewed and make my way up there! For some fine cuisine, I’ll take some Japanese pork and noodles, and to drink, a plum floating in perfume* served in a man’s hat. (* it’s actually just three liquors).
I’m chilling out at home to some Gil Scot-Heron playing from my stereo while trying to get the last of my schoolwork done. Going to take a pool break in a few as that’ll be quite nice.
I have on my desk, all in their boxes, a BLI J, MTH Powhatan Arrow set and extra car, plus two Walthers baggage cars. One of my cats has decided that is her spot and she’ll spend hours sitting on top of these trains. Thankful again they’re all in their boxes and stacked in such a way on the desk that they’ll not fall off.

WWWWHHEEEEE!!!
Nice Galaxy, I love what you’ve done with the place, the skaiting rink is a nice touch! It’s too bad though, I have 11:24PM on 7/31/2011, so you’re a bit early on the draw!
Good Evening,
Well I have made a few posts over the past week that haven’t worked due to trouble with IE9 on this site. I used the little torn page icon but it didn’t seem to work.
Nice we are on this side of the border and I hope all of our American friends enjoy the ride what with the Diner being tacked on to the end of what? Well as it is a virtual diner why not make it the Canadian, even though it hasn’t run for at least 40 years. We’ll have to interchange it with the Super Continental as we want CN to get equal time and besides I hear they are using a U2g Northern to pull the train.
Been very busy entertaining for the past 3 weekends so very little RR time. Luckily it is a holiday here tomorrow so I plan to do a lot of nothing. Just sit by the pond in the shade and contemplate.
Hope this post works as I’m really getting tired of typing and then having it disappear.

Good Morning!
I set my alarm clock so I would not miss moving the Diner to this month´s location, got up in time, took a plane over the Big Pond, arrived at the place it was last month - only to find out it had gone! Starting to run down the tracks to find it and
pant, pant, wheez! [xx(]
here I am. Thank you for making it a moving target this month, Galaxy. Good idea to visit various places NOB this month. And see how shiny the place is. I bet the girls are happy with you giving the place a late spring cleaning!
Bob - thanks for the hint on the rubber soles, prevented me from slipping - whaaa! Thud, clonk!
Who left his skateboard in here? [B)]
I will continue to experiment a little with the white glue method for the waterfall feature, but aside from that, I don´t have any plans what to do with the day. Maybe looking for some inspiration for my next module, which is supposed to be a temple module. I don´t want to have another tunnel, so that´ll be a challenge to come up with something which is not a caricature. Any thoughts?
Have a good one!
Evening/Morning all.
Glad to be in Canada. Never been here before.
Finally some place a little cooler. Now I don’t have to worry about keeping my ICED COFFEE cold. [(-D]
Good night tonight. The girl that I was wking with is a good waitress, and fun to wk with, so tonight was stress-free (unlike last night). AND, since it’s Sunday, I also got paid. It’s always nice to walk out with an extra $120 in your pocket.
Just catching up from the old diner…
Ulrich, I think THAT when I made that post, I was so stressed out THAT I sounded way more rough on her than I intended to be. She (and her twin sister) are the nicest, sweetest girls in the world, but aren’t cut out to wk in the restaraunt business, and THAT’s not their fault. They’re not necessarily dumb, but they simply aren’t able to think and act quickly in fast-moving situations. Not everyone is, and THAT’s ok.
And THAT module is looking amazing! Keep up the great wk! [tup]
I’m hoping THAT Bill comes back soon… It’s too quiet in the morning without him!
Todd, glad to hear THAT MIL is doing better. Hopefully she keeps coming along.
Also, I think you meant my post in relation to getting hit by the car. No one can blame you because it was an unfortunately placed, completely unintentional analogy. I made a pun like that last night. Didn’t even realize the connection until after I said it. My friends asked what was going on, and I said, “Word on the street is that someone got hit.” I suddenly realized that I had just made a very unfortunately placed unintentional pun, and I felt bad. [#oops]
Photos: As most of mine (with very few exceptions) are railroad and/or MRR related and ALL have been taken by myself, I will continue posting them until asked to stop. After all, this is a train forum, and would not be the same without train pictures!
Geez, why is ever
