Sawyer; Our prayers go out to you—we’re here if need be–
Mornin’ everyone!
“I’m dreaming of a white New Years…” Sorry about that. We got around 6" of light fluffy stuff that is now blowing here and there in the wind overnight. I also have more recording to do today before heading out to my son’s house for the New Years Eve Party. We used to have some of his friends over to my house years ago before he married for the party. Mostly sat around playing euchre all night and imbibing too much. Now we go over to his house and play euchre might have a drink, and hope to stay awake long enough to see the new year in…
Sawyer, my deepest sympathies and prayers to you and your family at this time!
I have to get the snow blower running soon or the musicians will have no place to park! Hope you all have a great and safe New Years!
Well I will have some OJ for now thanks.
Power went off last night, twice. In a 5 minute span. Happened around 3:00 this morning. Next thingt you know, there goes the fire whistle. The vol. fire department is about 10 houses up from us, and that whistle is LOUD. I guess maybe a car wreck or something. The whole town was black. I just now got the internet back and going.
How am I going to celeberate today. Well…right now working on the layout and getting ready to make some trees. Probably hit up the hobby store today, and see what I need from there. Next start drinking by 3:00pm, and will be out on the floor by 6:00pm. I will say by 12:00am I will be praying to the porcelain gods!!!
Now if you believe that, thats a different story. [:-^]
Good New Year’s Eve morning, All. I will have my usual coffee and cinnamon roll. Is anyone working today, or are we all starting the celebration today?
Dick, I haven’t had a horse for 10 years. I just didn’t have the heart to replace my old gelding. The steers are there to mow the grass and to eat.
Ryan, Are you our resident consultant for our party? What do we need to serve for our New Year’s eve party?
Errands today, but we will get some layout time tomorrow.
Sue
Ray, Barry, I’m sorry about misinforming you about our friend Sawyer. I accidentally posted the wrong person on the wrong forum…not enough coffee yet today, clearly! Sawyer and his family are fine to my knowledge.
Today will be going to friend’s place–pick up some beer and stuff to eat—then going home with goodies and settle down for the evening and fiddle with some RR stuff–not under any influence of course—[:-^]
Have a safe evening-----[:P]
PC;; OOOOOPPPSSS!!—escooose plisss–sorry myself-[:-^][#oops]
Think I’m heading home early and cooking a ham for tomorrow. Beyond that, probably not much.

I’m back in my Navy clothes today for the first time in a week and half, so I’ll take a big cup of black coffee please. I’m on duty today, so I’ll sitting on the MR website and surfing other train related sites. Yesterday was a great day, I spent most of the watching Thomas DVD’s with my son, and playing with him on the floor with all the wooden Thomas trains his Grandpa and Mimi got him for Christmas. I think I’m going to take the plunge today and purchase my first piece of brass. I’m going to buy a T&P Muley Caboose imported by OMI. Well I’ll check back later all. Have a happy New Year.
Thank goodness for that! I was wondering what might have happened???
BTW, I was wrong about the snow. We got so far about 10" of the white stuff here in Geneva. Still coming down… sideways! It gets really bitter when you are running the snowblower and it decides to blow right back in your face. My New Years Eve plans are subject to change as necessary. [V][sigh]
It was a simple case of not enough coffee yet.
Well, I picked up Christmas dinner, so why not New Years Eve dinner too?
Eat up everyone!
And for those of you choosing to partake of strong drink, I’ve arranged a special passenger train to take you home later!
Morning all from FoggyCal. We’re supposed to have rain here Friday, so hopefully it will lift the fog–I can hardly see across the street.
Rob: You asked about the ‘flexible’ highway–I’ve got two rolls of the stuff ready to lay down and repave Highway 49 around Sierra City, but I’m looking at some of my hairpin curves and I’m wondering if I bought the right stuff. I’ll let you know later how it goes. I’ve paved a little bit around Deer Creek with it, which is fairly straight, and it looks pretty good laid down. I think I may have to cut and snip a little to make the curves, but if I do it right, maybe the material will cover the creases. We’ll see.
Sawyer: For the life of me, I don’t know why I insist on calling the Bragdon powders “Chalks”–you’re right, they AREN’T! But I sure like the way they work.
Well, I got the official word from the Vet yesterday: Remington has Athsma. Which means that every two months I get to hustle him off to the Vets for a Pregnozone shot, which is an adventure in itself. Remi is NOT a fan of Veternarian’s offices–in fact it took three of us to hold him down for the shot yesterday. For a big sweet Wegie, he turns into a real VIKING on the table! I think what I’ll do is just get the stuff from the Vet and do it at home where he’s more comfortable. And pollen-heavy Central Valley is NOT the best climate in the world for a cat with athsma–or anyone else with the stuff, either. Just ask me.[:P] But he seems a lot happier this morning, no coughing spells or anything. That stuff really works.
Well, have to get ready for a rehearsal–my Choir Director’s uncle died and the funeral is Friday, so she asked me if I’d play for it. She’s coming over this morning to go through the music, so I’d better get it together.

Happy New Year, everybody.
We’ll be southbound from Detroit area tomorrow or next day.
in a SOUTHERN mug, please & thank you.
***Tom, please post some pics of the new highway when you have it in place. Thanks!
Wife has had a rough few days and is more sleep deprived than myself. I’m a bit worried about her. She is on her way to pick up her folks and bring them here for NewYears.
Tile guy finished up today and did a pretty decent job. I only touched up a couple minor spots after he left.
Hope everyone is doing well today.

Good afternoon from snowy and cold New England (17.3F), looks like about 5" of snow on the ground and still coming down for another hour or two. So tonight we are still headed out for the Sleigh ride and dinner by the big fireplace at the Inn in West Brookfield.
HAPPY NEW YEAR to all !!!
Good Afternoon all! Just getting ready to set up my DPDT switch.
I’ll be back here this evening,
Luke
Hi Guys
Just wondering if anybody has heard from Jerry’s wife or know if he’s okay?
Jeremy
Good Afternoon All,
We ended up wirh about 4" of snow and some pretty good winds. I’ve been beavering away in the shop all day and just stopped by for a coffee between jobs. Need to cut a piece of plywood to a template I made last night at the museum so we can make an elevated platform to transfer between a regular loop of track and an elevated trolley we put in on the new O gage display. Not much else going on right now.
Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year. Probably won’t do mch more tonight beyond trying to stay awake until they drop the ball at Times Square. Just as soon put this year behind us and strat fresh. Cheers, J.R.
Don’t worry, we all have brain farts, including me, lol.
Well, if ya’ll we’re talking about me, rest assured that everyone in my family is ok. My great aunt is starting to lose her mind (literally, like altizmers or whatever), but I’m not really sure what the deal is there. But my bro is fine, if ya’ll were talking about me.
Ya know the one bad thing about New Year’s? It brings this thought of how the Mayan calendar says the world will end in 2012. And for some reason, I let it get to me last night (probably b/c my brain was extremely tired), but I know it’s just a lie.
Yeah, that was me that started that…sorry. I hadn’t had my morning coffee yet, and it showed. I was talking about Barry over on Jeffs forum and I thought the right name, but somehow that information didn’t make it from my brain to my fingers as I typed. I removed the mistake here, but not before a couple caught it. I left it over there with a later retraction so you could see what I typed and figure out what all the hub-bub was about. My bad!
