I am glad that no one was hurt in this derailment, and am amazed that the train did not take a dip in pudget sound.
Hey,didn’t another mudslide accure not too long ago? Don’t these people have barriers for this kind of event?

it seems that they are having a lot of mud slides on this
busy BN route along the Puget Sound…I have been on this
rail from San Francisco, Ca and had a derailment in the
station in Portland…also the last wood burning diner car
and problems so we did not have any meals…The train on
the return time to the Bay Aarea had the first new super
liners and the new diners…No problems going back and
trip was turn out to be somethingg i will never for get.

No injuries…yet!
Man it’s been a bad year for the trains in Washington this year!
surprised that Guze isn’t on here blaming it on Obama.

Maybe now BNSF will finally be allowed to alter the problem hills to stop these landslides from interupting service.
My question is why not work on the areas prone to the mudslides? What will happen when there are injuries or worse deaths when? I would think that the liability issue alone would push the railroad company to fix this issue.
How could Goosie miss such an opportunity to peddle his slop,Tony? I’m with you
A reroute on the former NP (Stampede Pass) would serve more population centers than the current routing (Everett/Wenatchee/Ephrata).
