Engine availability

I see that trainworld has S-1 switchers priced at 29.99. Are there numerous road names available or do you have to choose from a select few. Tks Kirk

Why don’t you check with Trainworld? If they are offering something, it would be reasonable to assume that they would have this info for you. I think they have a toll free number. They’ve answered e-mail inquiries from me in the past.

When you call Trainworld, use their regular number as the toll free number is for firm orders only.

Use your head!!!

You call Trainworld on their toll-free number and when someone answers the phone you say, “I want to order an S-1 switcher in the XYZ railroad.” If the guy says, “I’m sorry but it doesn’t come lettered for that road,” you respond by saying, "I’m so sorry but somebody told me it did’ and then you give a polite tootle-oo, and hang up.

If the guy on the other end says, “We do have it in that road name” and you are not ready to order just yet you say, “Hello. Hello!!! HELLO!!! Danged telephone system! If you can hear me I’ll have to call you right back!!!”

PIECE OF CAKE!!!

P.S. You must avoid any semblence of a question or he’ll dump you quicker than day-old oatmeal into the garbage disposal.

Back in 1991 I was trying to find some Kato (N-Scale) SD40s lettered for the famous Undec Railroad; I was prepared to order these in about any roadname he had but Undec was my road of preference; I made a mistake of saying "Pusuant to your ad in the January XYZ magazine I would like to place an order for some Kato SD40’s. Do you have . . . . ", and I got no farther than that before he hung up on me. I thought about it for awhile before calling someone else and using the above scenario which worked like a charm. I later sent a copy of my invoice to the first party with the more than $275.00 amount circled and informing him that he was an idiot.

[#ditto] been there done that. And actually if one says, “I want to order an stock #123 a Proto-2000 S-1 listed on the web site”. Before you can say in XYZ roadname, they will say, “we have that in SF, CB&Q, MP, NP, and RI which would you like?”

Then is usually when I say I’ll take one of each different road number you have in NP and CB&Q[:-^].

Why dont they just get with the new era of technology and get a shopping cart on the web they already have a website, and I’m sure they are making money so take a little and spend it on a shopping cart program or atleast get paypal. That way when someone wants to order its instantly on the web.

Make the sacrifice & pay the buck for the call. I’ve done business with these people before & they are OK. They have a kind of attitude(I said nothing about yankee), but they should answer questions about roadnames. Most of the time the sale items have limited names. I’ve bought similiar paint jobs that can fairly easily be touched up & decaled for your roadname. Tweet.
