EOT Devices

I am ready to order a couple of those End Of Train Devices, advertised in the current issue of MR. Does anyone have one, and could we have a report?

They are everything they are advertised to be…very nice. Somewhat expensive, but worth it, IMO.

i bought one from trackside sales ( tracksidesales.com) a couple of weeks ago and i like it very much. it was a little expensive $36.95 but what isn’t in our hobby. the truck fits best on athearn cars and has a realistic flash rate and is scale size for ho. i put it on an empty gondola and i get a lot of questions about where is the battery and flasher unit. it comes with a truck with the flasher unit underneath it and a kaydee # 5 coupler wired to it. easy to install. works on dcc or dc and flashes all the time when on dcc track power is on or when the dc throttle is turned up. i also just ordered one of those cars that has the dcc uncouplers on it in product reviews in mr. i should get it in a couple of weeks.

Thanks for the replies.

Those DCC uncoupler cars are pretty neat too, although pricey. One right behind the engine would be nice, allowing the engines to uncouple from the train, anywhere on the layout. Lots of neat new stuff coming out these days.

I have two of the Ring Engineering EOT Devices, and they’re awesome! They look great, and best of all, they’re easy to istall. Just make sure to get the correct wheel sizes so your car doesn’t look like it’s lower at one end, as Ring Engineering offers them with 33" and 36" wheel diameters as well as a “longwire” option for longer cars such as autoracks and 89’ flats. Also, if you want to make your car look even better, you can order additional wheelsets for about $3 each to match the EOT equipped truck.
