Extracting O Gauge Track Pins

Found a useful tip. Everybody knows how hard it can be to extract factory-installed track pins from Lionel O Gauge tubular track. Well, I found that using the chuck of a cordless drill works great. I take out the battery, and just tighten the chuck around the pin to gain extra strength and leverage, then just use the handle of the drill to pull. A side benefit: the track pins come out undamaged without bends, crushing, or even scratches.

Say! Now that’s an idea!

Pin vises do the same thing (hence the name!).

The distinction, I suppose, is that I do not have a pin vise on hand.

Cordless drill is a better solution anyway.

Though I have to use my old K-Mart corded drill for such purposes.
