Does anyone besides me own a train that never actually existed in real life ?.
I’ve got a Life Like Santa Fe E-8 A & B loco set that I use to pull a seven car consist of Con-Cor Santa Fe smooth sides. It’s a real nice looking train, and truth be known, I prefer it over the Super Chief - no offense intended to Super Chief lovers… [:D]
Does a unit coal train of four three-truck articulated hoppers count? (Kitbashed from Athearn ‘blue box’ four-bay hoppers; now two single bay carbodies that meet over a six-wheel truck in the middle.) The brake vans at each end are unholy unions of shortened 50-ton 2-bay (now one-bay) and chunks of a single steel caboose. Usual motive power is two 0-6-0T’s on the short line or a B+B motor on the main.
Two Missabe Road M-4 2-8-8-4’s lettered for the never-was 3900 series on the Rio Grande. What the Hey, the Rio Grande borrowed Missabe Yellowstones during WWII–MY Rio Grande just went out and bought some, LOL!
