My favorite locomotive that I own is my Lionel Santa Fe berkshire. What is yours?
Hmmm…
Lets see…
Can I go with a couple?
At Christmas I like my NPCL Berk and the Docksider
Regular runners, I like my MTH Railking C&O Streamlined Hudson, would like my Lionel C&O 0-8-0 Swither if the sounds were better (my fault as I haven’t called tech support to get the board replaced).
OH and Postwar would have to be the 681…
Have to be my kato/concor NYC hudsons. Great n scale puller, looks great with a real long passenger consist in that beautiful grey. Like the prototype, looks just great, runs all day long, tracks perfectly.
No contest, my MTH, Reading T-1 absolutely the best.
Was my Lionel Scale Cab Forward,
NOW - THE MTH UP MIKADO I PICKED UP AT YORK !!!
Currently, my favorite ‘locomotive’ is the Chicago Surface Lines trolley by Western Hobbycraft. Ask me again in a month - I hope to get either the SF or LA one.
My Marx #490 0-4-0. My MPC #8020 FA. Both will still be running many years after all the fancy new ones with CC, Sounds, etc. will be dead.
My MTH 3 Truck Shay! Never thought I would be able to own one, thanks York & JusTrains.
Jon
Any and all versions of S2 Turbines [tup] [:D] I own Lionel postwar, MTH, Lionel Century Club, and Lionel Scale modern. Looking at getting a Williams to use as a “runner”.
Hey John…I thought for sure it would be a Jersey Central FM that would be your pick. [;)]
Dep
Dep, That would probably rate as my favorite diesel. [:)] I should have added my 2nd place steamer would be the CNJ P47 Baldwin pacific in Blue Comet colors.
Have to go with jefelectric on the Reading T-1 steam loco. Second favorite with plenty of power is the GP-9 Pennsy by Williams, looks nice and has great pulling power. The GG-1 is a nice model but needs a catenary system to look correct.
Jefelectric,
You won’t be let down by getting the Williams S-2 turbine number 671, excellant pulling power for a single motor unit, will pull about 26 post war quad hoppers or even more.

D&H Lionmaster Challenger
Reading G-3 Pacific

Lee,
I am the one looking at the Williams S2 [:D]

All of the following are made by K-line
Steam -The K-4 Pacific
Electric-GG1
Deasil- F seris
Dep,
Sorry if I got mixed up about who was looking for the S-2. The only drawback for some guys is that you don’t get TMCC or DCS with the locomotive but that is just fine for me, just means I won’t have to waiste money on electronic control systems.
alexweiihman,
Diesel is spelled differant than the way you have it!
Lee F.
Opps, I never passed spelling tests [:)]
Steam: Lionel LionMaster PRR T-1. Killer smoke unit, unmatched whistle, Raymond Lowey style!
Electric: Lionel PWC New Haven EP-5. COLOR!!!
Diesel: Lionel B&O FT’s. REALLY smooth runners at any speed or load. RailSounds horn is simply the best!
Motorized Unit: Lionel PWC #44 Missile Train w/Sound Car. Play value defined.
Jon [8D]
Lee: Actually, I wanted to twist John’s arm to buy an S2 anyway [:D]
Not sure if I’d leave the Williams stuff without TMCC and sounds. I already have a couple of GP9s that I plan on upgrading. I do have the Lionel boxcars with Trainsounds in them, so I can use those temporarily. I’m just not keen about being locked to a transformer. Most all of my stuff is DCS/TMCC.
Deesel Dep [:)]
My favorite in my roster is my Century Club 773. I am also partial to my 2333 santa-fe.
