Federal agency gives high-ball for North Carolina light rail project

10 YEARS ???

Meanwhile, Raleigh, the largest city in the metropolitan area, is left with no light rail planned.

Paul Vinson, Durham and Orange Counties have been pushing hard for light rail. Wake County (Raleigh) voters and politicians have been less supportive. Thus, the proposed light rail line doesn’t go into Wake County. Wake is studying a regional rail option, which, because it requires less new, dedicated infrastructure, might actually be up and running before the Durham-Orange light-rail line.

I agree with Mr. Hodges, why 10 years? The transcontinental was built in less time and not at 100 million per mile in “then year” dollars.
