Over the past couple years, I’ve been working on repainting and restoring a pre-war AF Royal Blue train set my grandpa got way back when it was new.[:D] As of this week, I’ve completely finished the repainting, so all that’s left is some new lettering (if I can find it)![:D]
It was in pretty bad shape before. I had to buy another engine just to get it running (the old chassis was gone).
The first thing I finished was the 478 boxcar.
Next were the engine and tender. I couldn’t find pre-war lettering, so I used some post-war style dry transfers. The old front truck wheels crumbled, so I put some freight car wheels in their place.
Next came the 484 caboose.
And now I’ve repainted the 480 Shell tanker![:D]
