I finally got to see a train in Uniontown, PA. I’ve been over that way various times over the past 20 years and had never seen a train over there. Not too surprising since most of the small factories and local mines are now closed. But, last Monday I was downtown taking photos of the preseved Penn Central N6A caboose along with the Alco switcher, and P&LE caboose when I heard a whistle several blocks away. Imagine my surprise when I saw a pair of black SWP Geeps towing 2 bulkhead flats and a boxcar. I just happened to be in the right place at the right time
Pictures please!
it was like that for me when we were in western PA and all of a sudden i see 3 bessemer tunnel motors! very nice.
stay safe

I posted the photos last night. These are actually pretty large (around 1MB in size) so dialup users beware. Enjoy!

Nice pics. I like those interesting cabooses.
Whoa! Some of those cars seam to be laying on their sides.[;)] Is that a real operating freight train? It does look somewhat like a museum set.[:)]
D’oh! It helps if I edit the photos first Thanks for pointing that out. This is an actual operating freight train. Not too many trains run out that way, since there’s very little industry on the line. I’ve seen the SWP engines before, but I had no idea they ran out that far.
Nice pictures,some of them are actually excellent for showing details;
especially if you’re going to model one of the cabeese.[^]
Looks like the last train that came through was back in the PennCentral days![;)]
LOL I took the caboose photos since I have one of the Wright Track N6A kits that were recently released. I think the PCRRHS still has a few of these kits available. Here’s more info on the kit: http://www.pcrrhs.org/n6a.html.
