Great news! This is truly a national treasure that deserves to be preserved in it’s entirety.

Would somebody please explain Marynowych’s posts?

The East Broad Top remains a remarkable gem, somehow preserved from a century ago. Thanks to the Kovalchicks and the EBTPA, one hopes a renewed vision will loom for what truly should be designated a National Historic Site of unique signifigance.

I followed Chris Webster’s advice and googled " Larry Salone" and checked his IRS filings at guidestar.org. I highly recommend anyone thinking of donating to do the same to be sure your comfortable before sending your checks.

The Kovalchicks are to be commended for holding this unique collection together for many years. Let us hope the East Broad Top Preservation Association can carry on their good work.

Wow! Great news! How does one support this effort?

This is extraordinary good news. The Eastie is a national treasure and deserves preservation. I have visited many times and have always learned something new about the history and equipment each time. The East Broad Top Preservation Association seems to have many innovative ideas re: the dinner trains, narrow gauge Thomas, and Santa trains. Wish them the best!

Caveat Donator!

Before giving to his charity, google “Larry Salone” and review his organization’s IRS filings, which are available at guidestar.org

When the change of ownership is completed in time for operations in 2014 perhaps a dual fundraising event can occur with the APS which is headquartered in Bellefonte. As a life member of that organization I will check their pulse regarding a mutual fundraiser using an RPO on the East Broad Top. I cannot put my finger on the pulse until the ballots regarding a by-law change are counted, though.

This is really good news.

Yes!

This is great news !!! Hopefully this will be the start of the next phase of life for the EBT. ----- Ken

What a relief that the EBT has not gone to scrap! Thank you, Kovalchick family, for the gift of your preservation efforts; and “Thank you” to the Association.

Thank you EBTPA for all your hard work to get to this point and in having a plan for the future of the EBT RR.

Way to go! By far the best historically preserved railroad around!!! See you in 2014!!

YES!!!

This is brilliant news. Congratulations to the Kovalchick family and to the Association for the progress in securing the future of this bit of truly important American heritage. As a visitor from the UK a few years ago, I was deeply impressed and looked forward to returning. Now it seems I should not have to wait too long.
