Former NS, nee CEFX AC4400CWs sold to... South America?

So I have heard that some, if not all of the AC4400CWs that CEFX sold to NS have been sold again, to who, I don’t know, but someone in South America. If this is true, what operator is it, how many of these former leasers were sold, and are these locomotives going to be changed to any gauge that isn’t North American Standard? Thanks if anyone has any info!

Edit: Here’s a picture for anyone who doesn’t know what the CEFX AC44s look like (note this was before they were sold to NS, back in 2023 I believe.

thedieselshop.us shows only 1032, 1042-44, 1055 as going to South America. They show many of the others going to Ferromex in Mexico.

Are the Ferromex AC4400CWs going to be rebuilt into AC44C6Ms? I know they have some on their roster, possibly some bought from NS post-rebuilding

I don’t know.

Just some more info on the CEFX 1000-series. If you look at the list that I linked, you’ll see that some numbers in the 1000-1025 series are missing. That is because LS&I bought 5 and has 4? more on lease. Business must be good because they just leased 3 SD60’s from Larry’s (LTEX). One poster said that they are POS’s and that Progress Rail no longer supports the 60-series. I don’t know if that is true. With CEFX clearing out the AC4400’s, I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t make LS&I an offer that they can’t refuse to buy the leasors, just to clear out the model.

Ah, ok
