Former Tunnel cars, which now run in Canada

With great surprise I did find out in TRAINS magazines about that VIA tain, that those former (European) car, now running for VIA still got the typical European type lettering, showing the max. speed. In this case 200km/h.

2Years ago, when riding the Skeena, I did not find such lettering on the cars.

The question now is, is the above mentioned lettering just a leftover (not oveverpainted or so), or is this the beginning of a new type of lettering. Or what ever reason is behind this surprising feature.

Anyone got an answer?

The metric system has been the standard in Canada for some 30 years now. When you were up here 2 years past hope you didn’t think the speed limit was 100 miles per hour. That used to be a common problem with US tourists.
