[:(] Any one in the Fort worth area know why Hobby Maker went belly up? It had been a while since I had been there last. I went to get a passenger car and a magazine and they were closed!! Only thing left in the space were some of the shelving units. That was my favorite LHS, bar none! I’ll miss that shop. Here’s to the crew at Hobby Maker, hope to see you arround. [:D]
I liked the shop also. My guess is that when you sell most everything at list there is a problem. They also had that large expansion into diecast cars that went bust . They did have their loco’s 20% most of the time and you could get a lot of O stuff there. I bought a bunch of cars and an airbrush when they were closing.

When were they closing? Like I said it had been a while since I had been in there. I’m a modeler on a budget so I don’t have extra cash most of the time, so when I do is when I would go in to pick some thing up.
Sorry to hear that one went belly up. However, it is a lot farther drive, but Discount Model Trains (located just north of Addison Airport in North Dallas) sells EVERYTHING at 20% off and they have large stock as well as will order anything you want.
I do not live in Ft. Worth anymore, but when I did (for 6 years) I shopped at Hobby Maker for scratchbuilding materials and such. I bought most of my actual rolling stock, loco’s, etc (N scale) at Discount in Addison, but I loved to browse Hobby Maker as it was close to the house.
