Forum Categorization/Indexing

I’m fairly new to these posts and am wondering if there is a better system of categorizing/indexing the information in this forum? The filters are built around timeframe, not subject matter. Or maybe I’m ignorant of a better way to sort to get at the information I want.

For example, I have tried several different ways including the search boxes to find out about matching UP paint. Nothing comes up except for mostly references to rolling stock and locos for sale.

Thank You

Usually, it is just easier to go ahead and ask the question in a new post and wait for results. Even though some questions pop up time and time again, most of us don’t mind answering the same old questions. By the way, UP uses Armour Yellow, Harbor Mist Gray, and Signal Red for their paint schemes. Paint colors found in Floquil, Scalecoat, and Poly S paints.

Thank You. I noticed when I posted this that there are lots of categories for the posting, wished we could use those.

On the paint, I have used Pollyscale for years and just last weekend had a problem where the color of the UP Armor Yellow was off(tannish), I then went to their website and noticed that the paint emblem color was tannish too. But, several of the colors had that same color, making me think there was a mistake somewhere. At this point Pollyscale is going to take the paint back and look into the issue.

Do you know the color for the green on top of the short hoods?

Thanks.

Testors, which has owned Pollyscale for some years now, just discontinued the Pollyscale military colors line due to a lot of duplication with their ModelMaster Acryl line. The railroad acrylics line was to be unaffected by this change. There was probably a foul-up on the color formulas somewhere.

I have older color samples that clearly show UP Armor Yellow as the requisite bright shade.
