Found a way to move the front truck on LGB F-7

I found away to move the front truck on the LGB F-7 locomotive back to the more correct position. all you do is unscrew the two screws above the truck holding the pivot plate(black plate) to the bottom of the loco, take a pair of nippers to remove the post sticking up from the coupler, it will interfer with the turning on the truck in the new position, you will see two used screw holes in the recessed area that the truck pivot plate goes, that is where you want to put the screws at when you reinstall the truck. This will move the truck back and into a more correct looking position on the locomotive. That is the only real bad thing I found on the LGB F units. Now just to get the working Mars light circuit installed. Feel free to email me if you need this done of have other questions or maintance issues. I do all kinds of LGB/0 scale repairs. Mike I am not a kit basher or very good at anything like this, but I have found a way to make the lighting connections on small LGB carriages more workable and the wiring between carriages more correct and they can look like air hoses.

Remove the roof and the lighting assembly, from the roof. Remove the bogey (truck) assembly and drill a 5 mm hole in the corner, choose a corner to suit. Unsolder the wiring from the lighting assembly and add about 100 mm to its length and pass these upward through the hole and reconnect to the assembly. Replece same and replace the roof and you are laughing.

Sounds good, I couldnt figure out how to change my user name so I did the registration using my wife’s email to more reflect what I am into running now. Sounds like a good plan, I am working on aquiring the streamlined passenger cars made by LGB to pull with my SF F7. I will keep that idea in mind when setting up the lighting. Cheers Mike
