Freight Trains on TV tonight!

I enjoyed the show, especially the GE EVO assembly plant in Erie and the BNSF trip with helpers in Southern California,

[}:)][:-,] That was funny, though, the way he put it. “The F in Fred means something completely different to those crews who lost their jobs”[;)]

Bump, because Boneyard tonight (12 July 2007) is in fact the Military Boneyard, and the segment on Anniston Army Depot (where they rebuild military equipment like tanks) had a few minutes of the internal rail system (with bright red Army locomotives) shifting around flatcars loaded with worn-out military equipment coming in, and rebuilt equipment going out. The show (so far) is rather interesting, including the interior of the depot’s rebuilding areas.

So clearly the Railroad Boneyard should happen on 14 July…

[The footage in the hump yard was pretty cool! Most folks don’t get to see that perspective as the cars are rolled down the hill and sorted.]

***I thought the same thing. Just wondering, has anyone modelled a yard that operates like the prototype, using gravity like that? If so, any links to it? [C):-)] Rob
