Frisco caboose paint

We are restoring Frisco caboose 876, and are in need of paint colors for the red carbody and yellow handrails that was used on the wooden caboose. We have tried using paint chips, but have had poor results due to the age of the paint, even using chips that were hidden. Prototype formulas or numbers would be nice, but we are willing to use from modeling paint, if needed. Any help with this will be appreciated.

Beleive it or not Fred, I have been told that to model the late Frisco Orange and White scheme, useing an automotive engine block orange is a perfect match. Testors makes a (Chevy or Ford)? engine block orange. If the real automotive manufacturers have a spec # for this standard color, you might be able to order / purchase enough to paint your real caboose. Hope this helps. Sincerely, Jack Bullard

Jack - Thanks for the reply, but this is the older caboose red, not the orange that was used on the diesels. I think you’re right on the Chevy orange for that color, though. Fred
