Frisco Unit?

I saw an eastbound autorack train going along Pittsburgh’s south side today. The second unit (was a 6-axel unit, possibly an SD45) was red and white and, as best as I could tell, looked like it had a faded “Frisco” on the side.

Are there still any former Frisco units still in their old paint? I would’ve thought that these units would’ve had a new paint job a long time ago.

Just curious.

I’ve seen a couple of CNWRRs lately on the Rochelle cam.[:D][:p]

Sure you were not looking at one of Colorado & Wyoming’s GP-38’s that have been out on lease for so long they no longer know where home is? (now CORP 3819?)

Could only verify it was a 6-axel unit with either white or silver trucks. It looked like it had faded “Frisco” wording on the side. Was looking through binoculars so unfortunately I can’t say I was right next to trackside to give a better description.

Sure, sure [:D]

Oops I thought you were asking me if I was sure they were CNW units. [;)]

I think I answered my own question today. Saw a westbound CSX train going along the ex-P&LE tracks on the south side with either the same loco in question or one similar. I got the binoculars out and got a better look at it. Turns out to be HLCX #6407 which I believe is either an SD45 or SD45-2. Thought I’d pass along the update.
