Anyone got an idea where I can find the plans for Fullerton or Santa Ana Stations; or any of the stations in that area [:)]
Warbonnet 2nd Quarter 1996 had TRACK MAPS (not scale drawings of depot structure) for Santa Ana, Fullerton and Anaheim.
“Rails through the Orange Groves” ,if you can find it, has some good info. Also check the Southern California Railway Museum’s site www.scrmf.org. The historical societies of the of the desired cities are another good source.
(There’s the remains of a P.E. substation hidden in Orange across from the depot. Would make a great little model.)
Sanborn’s insurance maps might be a source.
I believe some are on line at Library of Congress. www.loc.gov
I can access the ones for MY STATE through the University library where I am a student but requires my student ID…
The Fullerton Station still exists today, so you could photograph and measure it your self, and make your own plans. See also “Coast Line Depots, Los Angeles Division” for photos of the Fullerton and Santa Ana Stations. The L.A. division, of the PSR-NMRA is putting on their Regional Convention “Rails to the Verdugos” in Glendale Calif. Sept.15 - 19, and Bryan Hunnell will be giving a clinic on building models from photographs, with the modular section from the Fullerton Historical Group, with the Fullerton Station as a model. I photograph and did my own plans for the Pasadena Station, Redondo Junction Roundhouse (Now Gone) and the Santa Fe freight depot (Now Gone) in Long Beach Harbor, for my own future building projects.
Thanks for some of the help but as I live in England, measuring and photographing stations can be a bit difficult.

By the way, Fullerton has the ATSF (Amtrak/Metrolink), UP(restaurant), and PE(restaurant) depots within about a hundred yards of each other. UP Anaheim is a pre-school, ATSF & SP long gone. UP still runs trains in the middle of the streets in downtown Anaheim (ex SP). SD-40s are a little intimidating in a residential neighborhood. BNSF runs trains with cabeese through Orange to this day. And to stop my rambling, the circus train ran through town a coupla weeks ago. BIG, STRANGE train!
