Got a chance to do some rail fanning today.[tup] I was surprised. I was able to drive right into the middle of the yard and walk around and nobody even gave me a funny look. I stayed out of the no treaspassing areas and no one seemed to care. I got to see a bunch of neat stuff and got some good ideas for my layout.
Here’s alink to the rest of the pics. A few are blurry from the digital zoom, but I left them in to show the size of the yard. A few good crain shots in there too!
Enjoy![:)]

Loather… That’s really good of you to post the photos in Nashville. I was in Nashvillle several days ago and posted in Elliots Diner some photos I took of the NC&StL 4-8-4 located in a Nashville city park near downtown. Have you seen that old engine? It appears to be very well preserved.
Thanks for the nice pics!! Neat to see that even is a busy yard there’s a little weed between the tracks!![tup][tup]
Loathar,
Nice pics, and I can see where they can be a good source of ideas. Nice to know, too, that CSX doesn’t seem to have the corporate, ‘Hassle the railfans,’ policy that the more western Class Ones display.
As for the Dixie in Centennial Park, it is a nicely maintained display loco - but a lightweight when compared to other 4-8-4s
Can’t honestly say you made me homesick, even though my offspring (and theirs) live in the Nashville Metro Area. Why? That white stuff on the ground. Around here I have to look way up toward the top of a rather tall mountain to see the like.

Chuck…how many times are you gonna post that? [:D]
Lothar…nice pics!
If you get a chance, check out the yards in Chattanooga!
Be forwarned, it’s not a good neighborhood. [:-^]

Believe it or not, I only posted the last (different) one. The system grabbed my unfinished first version, told me I was over-posting (when I hadn’t even hit the ‘POST’ button) and kicked me off! Now I’m in the process of cleaning out the trash.
Happily, the industrial area in North Las Vegas is a good neighborhood - the only people there are the people who work there, and there’s a bit of distance to the nearest (new, upscale, gated-community) residential area. Interesting trackwork, but not much action even though the rails are shiny.

Chuck-That’s not snow on the ground. Just lots of gravel.[;)] We’ve only had one 3" snow fall this year and it stayed on the ground for less than a day. It was about 60 degrees when I was taking those shots.
(need to put some Labelle 106 on that enter key.[:D])
Do I see a MP15AC??
loathar,You certainly went deep into “No Man’s land” on that picture taking adventure.[:D][tup]
Of course I would never adverture so far into “No Man’s Land”…[:-^][swg]
Nashville vistors may wish to check out the Tennessee Central Railroad Museum.
And here’s the “Dixie” near Vanderbilt University in Centenial park
