• Preserved/vintage locomotives
• Custom or freelance heritage repaints
• Models that represent historical railroads or liveries
• Units forcefully made by the public (eg, CSX GP40-2 6914 ‘Cheesie System Nose’ - this unit is an unofficial heritage unit that was vandalized to look like/be a heritage unit)
