German

What are some companies located in Germany that make N scale engines? That sell German engines in Germany. Also how good are the engines?

European N is not my strong point but I would think that if you look at Marklin / MiniTrix, Fleischmann “piccolo”, or Roco N you’ll see some nice stuff. Just google them and you can visit their sites. I believe they are high quality and priced accordingly. Sorry but I have no idea how compatible they are with North American DCC. Cheers.

Hi,

here are some companies that I am aware of:

Fleischmann-good quality products just like Roco. Arnold, the old locomotives are of good quality but now Hornby has bought up the company, they still make models of german railroads. Then there is also Trix, the DC version of Marklin. Their N line is called Minitrix.

From what I know all the German manufacturers do not have limited run editions of their locomotives and rolling stock. They will usually produce the same engine for quite a long time. Their quality is quite good, ie comparable to Kato and the price is quite steep. This according to a acquaintance that has both European and American models in a large quantity.

I hope this helps.
