gluing brass?

I bought a brass Key ATSF doodlebug. It is nearly perfect, except for two footsteps which are bent inwards and partially broken. As the model is painted, soldering the broken connections seems to be not such a good solution. What glue can is the best to use for brass on brass? CA?

CA will work but make sure the brass is clean and free of tarnish and other contaminants like oil or grease etc. Roughing surfaces slightly will aid bonding. I saw a tip that suggested using the thin CA glues as opposed to the gels for gluing brass.

I would use a two part epoxy myself. Find one intended for bonding metals. JB Weld seems like a logical choice but perhaps something else would be better for a brass model?

Just my 2 cents though, I’m no glue expert!

Since you’re going to have to clean the area in order for the glue to form a good bond, why not do a proper job and solder it back together? It should make a much stronger repair. If you can’t match the original paint exactly, paint it a colour that’s close, or simply touch it up with some primer - the real ones would have gotten bumped and scraped, too, and the repair job might not include a complete paint job if the unit needed to be kept in service.
