Gn15 ... is it really HO trackage?

Folks,

I’m tired and it’s late here in flyover country, so please excuse a probably dumb question. I just discovered an English site that seems to imply (is that a redundancy?) that HO track is used to run G **scale–**couldn’t determine which one–stuff.

I’ve been turning over ‘plans’ for a mine with its own railroad. Gn30, which I at least know something of (though not much) seems a tad big for hauling ore out of mineshafts.

HO track, howsumever, if carrying a respectable-size G scale like 1:20.3 which I’ve settled on, seems to fit the bill. Certainly, the equipment would be probably ‘knee high’, so to speak.

So that’s the question: is HO track running G scale equipment?

Thanks,

Les (headed for the rack)

In a word, yep. 15" gauge trains were sometimes used in amusement parks, mines and quarries. Google “Cagney Brothers”, “Crown Metal Products” or “park trains” for more info. BTW The B’mann On30 mogul makes a dandy park loco with very little modification.
