Good online hobby retailer?

I’m a huge fan of the Walthers stuff, and Ive noticed alot of the online retailers have a VERY limited supply, if they carry any Walthers at all. Anybody know of a good (lowest price and reliable) online model train retailer? I’m getting back into the hobby after about ten years, so I’m kinda out of the loop. My LHS is way overpriced on most items with a very limited selection, but they tell me they can ‘special order’ the Walthers stuff for the Walthers catalog price (MSRP) but I know most of it can be had cheaper, I just don’t know where.

Thanks!

my favorite is www.discounttrainsonline.com

The overall best I’ve found is Klein’s in baltimore - www.modeltrainstuff.com. Good prices, well stocked and excellent service. Ive had good luck over the years with MRPO,Toy Train Heaven (Bowser). When you’re really up against it, Caboose hobbies in Denver has a lot others don’t carry.

Don’t forget to check out Ebay. Some hobby shops to “buy it now” auctions at reasonable (well, sort of) prices. It’s worth the look.

try flying scotsman hobbies at www.fshobby.com/

I’ve had good luck with firstplacehobbies.com

In N scale, I’ve used several sources, been happier with them than Historic Rail or Micro Mark for my last order of other things. N scale Supply, Brooklyn Locomotive Works, Rio Grande Hobbies in KY, but often I just order from Walther’s Hobby Shop, have checked LHS, bought there if they had stock.

Too many places just don’t have new N releases other than MT or locos with roadnames I WANT! SP ATSF, thought I was almost done until the RS5 next May, and the ATSF PA/PB release. Just don’t have enough boxcars in old roadnames for all over that shipped to So. Calif.
