Gratiot Valley Show - SE Michigan Construction Alert

I have heard on the radio and confirmed via the big signs on the side of the road that both directions of I-696 will be closed all weekend between Van *** and I-94.

This will make getting to the Gratiot Valley train show a little tricky.

Have a great weekend everyone!

So do you have any advice for folks coming from the other side of 8 mile on how to get out there? Don’t know if I’ll make it but maybe…

There’s also the Great Train Expo at the Novi Expo Center (I refuse to call it by it’s current corporate sponsored name)! So if you can’t get to the one Dave speaks of, go to this one!

Date of Event: March 4 - 5, 2006
Times: Sat: 10am - 4 pm, Sun: 10 am - 4 pm
Description: This is the largest traveling show in the USA! It is one not to be missed.
Admission: $7.00, Under 12 are free
Parking: $5.00
Location: B Hall
Contact: 600-279-4048
URL: www.greattrainexpo.com

Not sure where you live, I live in Royal Oak and plan to take 12 mile all the way over. This will take some extra time but I bet that 696 will be a mess.

If you can get on Gratiot, and go North, you should be OK.

I am not planning to go to the one in Novi. $7 admission and $5 parking is just too much for me to swallow.

The GVRR show is just $5 and the parking is free.

I would take I-75 to 8 Mile east to Groesbeck, left on Martin. Here is the flyer:
