Restoration for possible operation? Would be cool!

Should be “wreak” havoc there, folks.

If you want to see the story of THE GREAT LOCOMOTIVE CHASE as it was before Disney/ Hollywood cut it to shreds, get the silent movie starring Buster Keaton.

Why not to Kennesaw, GA to be with the General?

Interesting! As a kid, I rode behind the General under steam from Atlanta to Knoxville after the NRHS Atlanta convention. I also rode between Knoxville and Oak Ridge. The little engine was an unforgetable experience. Would it be nice to see the General steam again!

The proper place for the Texas would be coupled tender to tender with The General at The Southern Locomotive and Civil War History Museum in Kennesaw, GA. There it would be lovingly maintained and appreciated by millions of trains and civil war history buffs.

The Cyclorama, the General, the Texas . . . I know them all well from many visits to Atlanta when I lived in that part of the country. Sounds like they are going to have the money to do it right. Next year, I’ll come back down and check on it ;-). Mr. Freeman, you have it backwards, sir. The Buster Keaton film is a comedy loosely based on the Andrews raid; historical accuracy it has not. Disney actually did a pretty good job for 1956.

Having lived in the metro area and Kennesaw Georgia, I concur with Tim Garland.

The best place for “The Texas” would be in the same building with “The General”. Kennesaw is where the chase began.
