Great Picture on pg. 56, Classic Trains, Fall 2008

That’s a great picture of the Katy Flyer on pg. 56-57 of the Fall, 2008 Classic Trains! Even though some finicks may argue it’s just another “wedge shot” (I refer in general to some of the critics on railphotos.net), you get beautiful colors, the depot, the entire train, what appears to be a '53 Chevy and a quaint rural backdrop complete with a wooden elevator and general store.

I managed to obtain a copy of the Fall Edition of Classic Trains today when I went to the neighbouring town.

I agree that the pic on p.56 is a good one.

Haven’t had chance just yet to read my copy but it is a forthcoming attraction later this evening. [;)]

Agreed. The Katy was a classy railroad but suffered from money problems throughout all its existence.

Their St. Charles (MO) station has been rehabbed, elevated above flood expectancy and is now being operated as a museum.
