Great smokey mountain railway

I am going on my church’s youth coir mission trip, we leave tommorow and although we are going to to do alot of mission work and singing, we are also going to do some really fun stuff. one of those things a 5 1/2 hour train ride on the great smokey mountain railway ! www.gsmr.com . has anyone ridden this line before ? what is it like ? I will be sure and post some pics when I get back !

P.S. please keep our mission in your prayers

It’s excellent!
I take the excursion every year. We just got back at the end of May. The train is headed
by a 2-8-0 Consolidation. They also have a desiel excursion, but where’s the fun in
that [:D]. It sounds like you’ll be taking the trip from Dillsboro to Bryson City(?), if so
make sure to see the Lionel Museum in Bryson. This is a beautiful part of the country,
so take time to look around at the mountains. Here’s a couple of links from the area
and to some of the pictures I took in May. Have fun. Dave

BTW

If you are in Dillsboro at a meal time, I recommend the Jarrett House - all you can eat, Southern home style !!!

George
I tripped over this http://www.wvik.org/gallery/rocket.htm and thought of you. If you have excess $
in petty cash, add to your art work collection if not too late.

Thanks, Chuck, but all my money (and then some!) is tied up in pre-orders for Atlas locos right now (to include both RI GP7s, of course!).

I do have a small copy of the painting on the jewel box cover of Tweet’s Grand Excursion CD.

The boats and steam engine made the Quad Cities fun this Summer !!!

Thanks, anyhoo !
