I’m going today. It’s worth seeing. Lots of ideas, portable layouts, dealers, vendors and assorted modelers selling their gear.
Parking $9-12 as far as I know. Tickets are $7 for adults. Kids free. http://www.trainexpoinc.com/shows/2010Pomona.html
National USA schedule for the Great Train Show. http://www.trainexpoinc.com/schedule.html
Also at the Fairgrounds in Pomona, there is a permanent G scale garden railroad outside in a patio area that is there year-round. That in itself is worth seeing, if you are into model railroading.
You gotta PAY for Parking? [(-D] [(-D] [(-D] [(-D] [(-D] [(-D] [(-D] [(-D] [(-D] [(-D]
Oh yea…its California…gee what a surprise [:-^]

You’re right on but we’re supposed to keep it just about Model railroading and not politics or reality. You might get a reminder email but it is the right thing to do to keep the forums open so all modelers feel at ease.
Well, he brought up California and I could’nt resist, since I live here and see first hand what is going on and guess what? It will affect my ability to do model railroading, so it is related. [swg]
You might be absolutely right but i’ve received the “Notice” for a similar post. They’re right though because these can turn heated in no time.
well, went to the show and we had good time,we did not go to shop just to see the moduler layouts & the g-scale outside layout that calls the fairgrounds home, really enjoyed the freemos in ho,n & even Z . met up with a gent who posted a pict of his n-scale mod on this site friday and I spotted it right off at the show ,he gave us the tour and explaned to us what the fremo thing is about ,very interesting to me but I still cant get over the detail they get in such a small scale though, I do like the “skies the limit” when it comes to use of space that n-scale opens up! I think Id enjoy being a part of a fremo type of club when my skills get evident, just dont know about n-scale and my eyes [8D] any how had great day and got a lot of Ideas …ps and didnt buy anything but a great parking spot with a veiw…Jerry
It was a pleasure speaking with you at the show Jerry.
Don’t be intimidated by some of the modeling on our modules as we have many levels of skills and we teach one another more every time we get together. I think that is one of our greatest strengths as a club.

Paying to park in LA is no different than in any big city. It’s nothing to get your dander up about. Its a fact of life in a city.
I’ve been to the show in Pomona before. Of course, the real attraction are the Steam Engines on display at the fairgrounds.
When I lived Down in SD, I preferred the Del Mar show to Pomona. Prettier location. I also liked the Anaheim show. It was in the basement, so not as nice, but Disneyland was right next door and I had an AP, so free parking and going to DL.
