I went yesterday(Sat) it was OK,but not much new to see.About 40%junk used stuff, 20%Thomas the tank engine,20%clothing,books,maps,diecast in non model RR scales, and non modeller RR related stuff and 20% nice new up to date merchandise and nice used stuff. The layouts where OK but there where not many HO ones and its the same ones every year.I kept thinking,I could have stayed at home(3+hours round trip) and ordered everything on the internet cheaper.I guess I went because I do like to see stuff in person and there might be something new on a layout thats neat.or maybe Ill strike up a conversation with someone.I dont know , I guess it was worth the drive. What do you guys think of train shows??Hope I wasnt too harsh.
Tim, I went as well and thought it was not a bad show. There were several booths well stocked with detail parts and I was able to get a number of little items that I otherwise would not have purchased. I said hi to a couple of chaps in red santa fe hats, but they were not you of course! Did you take the side trip to k-10 model trains?
Hi,no I didnt go to the hobby shop, back was hurting pretty good, but I’ll make it there sometime soon.I was looking for a couple of specific things but no luck!!Oh well,it will be a looooong time before my layout is ready for trains anyway.Happy modelling Simon.
