OmniTRAX offered the Great Western Rly Loveland Depot to Loveland Historical Society which moved it off railroad property onto city property (about 250 feet) on Thursday, 6 Feb 2025. Mammoth Moving & Rigging did the depot move. Beautiful weather helped make the move go smoothly and a small crowd watched the operation.
Photo shows some of the folks that were involved in saving the depot. Pam Sheeler in yellow safety vest started the Save the Great Western Depot movement.

Kimberly and Donny were on the scene after years of fund raising to save and move the Loveland Depot paid off. Funds are still needed for determining future use of the wooden building. Thanks to Mammoth Moving & Rigging for their successful depot move.

It is great to see a piece of Northern Colorado railway history has been preserved. It would be awesome if the Loveland Historical society could turn it into a museum…maybe one that focuses on the sugar beet industry and the railroads that served it?
