Happy Canada Day!!!!

It’s grab your toques, grab a Moosehead, start cooking the back bacon, and bake a Saskatoon pie, then start looking in the garage for the snow shovel, because winter is just around the corner. And dig out thos C.P.R rotary snow plows for the layout, you will need them.

To all Canadian modellers…We don’t have as many railroads to model as do our southern neighbours, and rolling stock and locomotives are offered in limited quanities by many of the bigger suppliers( Bright light for us in some respects…True Line Trains…great detail and quality), but we live in one of the greatest countries on this earth. We are so fortunate in so many ways to live in this great land called Canada.Sound your diesel horns and steam whistles an extra time today to salute this great country of ours and the great hobby we all enjoy. All the best to our American modelling friends as they celebrate their " fourth" in a couple of days.

Happy Canada Day to you all!

To all my neighbors to the north: " Happy Canada Day" !!

As I sit here and type this, I am listening to one of my favorite bands that I finaly got to see last year in Toronto- RUSH !!

Actually, I saw them twice. My 1st concert in 25 years!

Just so we are all on the same page…

Per Wikipedia: “Frequently referred to as “Canada’s birthday,” particularly in the popular press,[1][2][3] the occasion marks the joining of the British colonies of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and the Province of Canada into a federation of four provinces (the Province of Canada being divided, in the process, into Ontario and Quebec) on July 1, 1867. However, though Canada is regarded as having become a kingdom in its own right on that date,[4] the British Parliament at first kept limited rights of political control over the new country, which were shed by stages over the years until the last vestiges were ended in 1982, when the Constitution Act patriated the Canadian constitution. Canada Day thus differs from Independence Day celebrations in other countries in that it does not commemorate a clear-cut date of complete independence.”

Truly, I am blessed to live in the most beautiful city in the best country on Earth. [:D]
