Happy Saint Patrick's Day All!

And just to break yez all out o’ the bloody coronavirus doldrums here’s “The Four Kings of Ireland,” the Clancy brothers and Tommy Makem, with a rousing song that always gets me fired up! Enjoy!

And since all of yez have a sense o’ humor here, not like that OTHER Forum, I’ll leave ye with a fine old Irish proverb…

“If you’re gonna drink and drive, for the love o’ God don’t spill any of it!”

We’re sorry, the number you have reached in no longer in service.

Thanks! I actually saw the Clancy Brothers in concert, back in the 90’s. It was three of the brothers, plus a nephew, I believe. I believe all the brothers have departed this life.

You’re welcome Father, and sadly they’re all gone now, Liam Clancy was the last to go in 2009.

Still, we’ve got the records and videos of performances which is wonderful, because we’ll never see their like again, not like that.

It will be an interesting St. Paddy’s Day here in Minnesota. With all the bars closed per the Governor’s order, it’s actually more like the way it traditionally was in Ireland - a holiday with the bars and restaurants closed, and people at home having a quiet dinner with their family. But not eating corned beef and cabbage, bacon and cabbage would be the norm. (Corned beef and cabbage became “a thing” with the Irish in America.)

My great grandfather on dad’s side was a Moloney and my mother’s mom was a Gahn so I hear them pipes a callin’ ! [Z]

We had corned beef, cabbage, and irish potatoes at the evening meal today. I asked for Irish coffee, but none was available; I did get some green beer.

I am Scotch and Irish, so I am allowed…
