Yeah, this info has looked pretty solid in a few places I’ve seen… It would be cool to see the ACE in their colors… It’s not my favorite unit, but it would beat the never ending parade of GEs.
I was on a EMD SD-70-M-2 last night.It was it’s madien trip on the NS.I loved the engine.It was the most quiet engine I have ever been on.I usually take my camera to work with me,but of all nights I forgot it.It was the most unique engine I’ve ever been on.I thought I had been on one earlier this year,but now I don’t think I was.The engine number was NS 2691.Built 11/2005.It still showed being from GM.It has a standard control stand,no gauges,and one computer screen in front of the engineer.There was one seat on the conductors side,one in the middle,that Ilike to call “the barbers chair”.The paint had the most shine I have ever seen on a locomotive in service.Sorry I didn’t get a picture.I think the NS is going to get about 50 or so of these engines.
