Have been finding that g scale does not work to well with DCC units. Most do not have the amps to work with Gscale engines Are there solutions out there?

You need to get hold of some past issues of “Garden Railways” magazine, which I’m sure are still available from Kalmbach. They ran a whole series of articles recently devoted exclusively to DCC with Large Scale trains. Has all the answers to all your questions.
And, yes, DCC is certainly possible with Large Scale.
