Head office needed

Hi al
Any one got any ideas for a small ish but very inpressive station building
(Depot for my US friends) that can double as the railways head office
needs to be the sort of thing that makes a statement about the reliabilaty high standars pick us we are the best of the lines ect .
Just like Grand central station and the like would have done only Err needs to be a lot smaller than that only a small garden.
Any ideas, pictures or sketches would be helpfull.

I liked the looks of the Adelaide, SA Station!
Would go for that with a lot of selective compression!

The most interesting station I have visited and i did it in my boat, was Toronto a suburb if you will of Newcastle in NSW. It is no longer in use and has been restored and looks pretty g ood. It is on the shores of Lake Macquarie.

Well Gentalmen
You all seem to have the right ideas on suitable features
for the building.
Now I just have to try and get them on a suitable sized building
looks like I might have a use for those cake pillars after all.
Wonder if the old tin plate statons can offer insperation
some of them had OTT features for there size and looked more like they should have very grand sounding names on them.
must see if I can find some pictures of them…

I think Adelaide Railway Station is one way to go - will provide your railway with a great source of Revenue - given there are more punters gambling in its casino than people riding the trains that occasionally eminate from its bowels!

The better one would be Port Lincoln:

  • Its Narrow gauge (42" or 1067mm)
  • It has faithfully served its town for near 80 years, despite being on a hand-to-mouth Railway system
  • Its not as garish as Webb’s Adelaide station
  • Coasties (local slang for people on the Eyre Peninsula) could turn it into a casino!

Or another option would be the reasonably sized Cummins station

I will be basing my layout on the operational style of the Division, once I get around to building it!

I would be surprised I have seen adelaide railway station and it isn’t in the same league s Toronto,

Hi All
Found it those that can check out May 2004 Classic Toy Trains page 54.
a free upsize, an Aus style tin roof and propper 15" platform and a few minor detail changes should do it.
any one able to offer dimensions help on what was used in the orriginal artical.
So I can do the 257% upsize.unfortunatly not familliar with the buildings used in the orriginal kit bash and mine will have to be scratch built anyway
