HELIX CONSTRUCTION

Somewhere I read that someone named Frank had build a Helix by cutting 8’ long sections of plywood at an 8 degress angle. I think this was for a 36" circle and one for a one track Helox. Could some help me with the angle for a double track helix using this same concept. I’m not sure how he calculated the demsions to make these panels and come out with the 8 degress angle.

Thanks In Advance

I am at work right now so I don’t have it close.

There was an article in Railroad Model Craftsman a couple of years ago about that.

I believe that I used 22 1/2 degree cuts for the eight section straights for the (Rounds). My helix is 4 3/4 turns.

If you go to the search function at the bottom of the page and type in Helix you will come up with many links and one of mine is in there and it tells the month and year of that edition of RMC.
