Sorry if i’m way ignorant on this, can old 0 guage track mix with new fastrack, like can you mix them together? and why do the old trains that i bought go really slow in spots around a small layout with a 90 watt transformer?

I think they make adapter sections to mate the 2 together.
Sounds like either your track is dirty, or a bad electrical connection. Try cleaning the track & make sure the track pins are snug in the track. You might need to clean the pins too.
You may also need to add a second feeder wire from the transformer to the opposite side of your layout.
