I model the D&H/Guilford in 1984 in HO scale, which means passenger trains are Amtrak. Amfleet I and II, in Phase II and III paint schemes, pulled by an FP40H. It couldn’t be easier. Recently, though, I came across pictures of a Guilford executive train, and I would like to build a model of it. My models don’t have to be exact matches, but I would prefer to be somewhat close. Unfortunately, I don’t know where to start. Here are the four passenger cars:
Springfield Terminal #100 (Observation Car) - purchased by the D&H from N&W (#102) in 1976. It still had stainless steel fluting in 1985.
Springfield Terminal #101 (Diner/Lounge) built by Pullman-Standard for the Pere Marquette in 1946, sold to D&RGW (#1290) in 1950; sold to the D&H (#43) in 1967. It still had stainless steel fluting in 1985.
Maine Central #390 - built by Pullman-Standard for the Pennsy (#4044); then PC (#4044); then Amtrak (#5444)
Maine Central #391 (Chair/café/food service) - conflicting references say built by Budd in 1939, and by Pullman-Standard in 1948 for NYC (#3011); then NYC (#3211), then PC (#3211), then (Amtrak #3951).
Here is a picture of the train in 1984 (minus the observation).
Can anyone point in me a good direction to start? Thanks!
