help with brass loco manufacture identification

Hello; I was wondering if someone could help with identifying a brass loco maker. I have 4-6-2 brass loco that is marked with a brass N J Custom Brass KSM Korea tag on the underside. However I received it in a Sunset box. The box says it’s a New York Central K-5 4-6-2 made in Korea by Samhongsa. My question is, is this engine in the right box? did Sunset import models with the N J custom brass tags. All the Sunset models I have are just marked Samhongsa Korea on the underside. Also this tag is brass & black not brass & blue like the Daiyoung models. Im only a novice at best & not sure if it is a K-5.

If any one could help it would be greatly appreciated!!!

I’ll try to assist. According to the Brown Book Guide to Brass Locos, the
initials KSM stand for Kasumi. This is a different builder than Samhongsa.
I believe that KSM is a Japanese builder. Samhongsa is Korean. I would
have to conclude that your model is in the wrong box. Hopefully, this helped
a little.

KATSUMI was a Japanese builder, and used the initials KTM - not to be confused with KMT - Kumata, another Japanese brass maker of somewhat lesser quality.

KATSUMI was one of the first, and last, of the Japanese brass maker’s.
he built models for Westside, Balboa, and Max Gray, among other’s.
