We had a saying in Florida when the tourists got nervous. “Welcome to the bowling leauge. You never know if it will be a strike or a miss untill it hits”[8]
Actually, we’re looking forward to the rain from this system here in Sarasota. It’s been really dry.
And…if a system of this “magnitude” was approaching Des Moines, the media wouldn’t even be mentioning it.
Have a great day everyone!
Lots of heavy rain (picture the rain you get in the middle of a thunderstorm that beats against the windshield of your car and then have it go on for two straight hours of driving with no let up) this morning, but little wind from Alberto. I took US 41 into Tampa (rather than I-75) and the CSX guys were out in a truck checking something along the Tampa-Bradenton line. Perhaps a soft spot. But other than some minor flooding, it looks like we’re gonna make it through Alberto just fine…
That’s interesting. If I were to listen to the 24/7 news coverage on Alberto, I would think that it had already made landfall with 90 million deaths and the directors of FEMA laughing it up in the background. Gotta love our news media. If there is no news then you make news.
