Hey guys i just redid the outdoor HO layout to move stuff and straighten curves heres the tour video + bonus video:ballast laying

so we did alot. we straightened out the winding sections and moved our engine house and turntable to infront of the company office. we added new buildings 5 houses 1 bank 1 shack 1 church and 2 small shacks and 1 tower. we also added sticks to make a border around our airfield. were making one of the tracks coming off the turn table extend also out to our depot for logs and may be powering that section.

we also now have 3 sections on the full length of the track to have transformers at ready to plug in. so if we cant see the train from one section

we throttle down unplug move to the next transformer that we can see it from then plug in check our direction and keep the train moving.

plus we are just talking about different stuff on our layout. heres the link enjoy: https://youtu.be/DNbOAMf3m_0

hey guys just to let you know today theres no videos coming out me and my husband had to run errands and our car hit the girder on the on ramp and was compleatly obliterated to the point where its totaled. so today was just busy recovering and getting everything taken care of hopefully tomarrow or the next few days from now i can try some recording again for now theres a temporary pause while we kinda recover and look for a new vehicle

I watched your video.

What part of the country are you in?

Not to diminish your railroad, it looks like a lot of fun and it is something I wish I could do since we have zero space inside the house. You appear to be using Bachmann EZ track, a pretty good choice for this application.

I do have the following comments though.

If you were down south like, us you wouldn’t be able to do a completely outdoor layout like that, you wouldn’t be able to keep the track clean. Plus, you can’t do that on a lawn, the grass would grew up underneath and push everything out of the line. Plus, you have to cut the grass. You have to have fairly bare ground to do anything.

But the biggest thing that would keep me from doing something like that is how old I am. I can’t kneel down anymore or even get up if I’m down on the ground. Anything I do with a model railroad has to be on a table at this point.

this is missouri and we do keep the grass cut lower then the bedding but we use EZ track only the nickle silver not the steel alloy because the nickle silver lasts longer we also use no ox id a special to keep electrical condinuity lasted us all summer long we put it up for winter

the no ox id a special actually helps weatherproof as well we did have our tracks out during hail and other storms and it did fine after a scrub down to clear dirt off the rails

Very cool.:smiling_face_with_sunglasses::smiling_face_with_sunglasses::grinning_face::grinning_face:

I have an outdoor air layout that’s undercover and I have my struggles with it. But this is the first time I’ve seen an actual outdoor HO scale layout that seems to function well. I wish I could do that, but for two reasons I can’t. Our lawn grass is too thick to lay track on, and I can’t bend over to fool with stuff on the ground anymore. :face_with_spiral_eyes::open_mouth::scream:
